Job Description

The Manager of Financial Reporting will prepare and review the Company’s Consolidated and subsidiary financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations. The Manager will be responsible for monitoring the status and completion of all tasks, ensuring timely completion in accordance with established deadlines, and interfacing with Accounting leadership and other internal and external parties. In addition, the Manager of Financial Reporting will support the Accounting Research and Policy group’s activities, including researching and documenting technical accounting analyses of complex transactions, developing accounting policies, and monitoring and implementing new accounting standards.

What will I be doing?
  • Prepare and review the consolidated financial statements and related footnotes for inclusion in the quarterly reviewed and annually audited financial statements, ensuring compliance with all reporting and disclosure requirements under U.S. GAAP and the SEC, as applicable
  • Prepare and review the earnings release, documents to support the earnings call and additional needs of the Investor Relations team
  • Review subsidiary financial statements for various reporting obligations, ensuring compliance with all reporting and disclosure requirements under U.S. GAAP
  • Manage the quarterly and annual impairment process of tangible and intangible assets including review of analysis, memo and working with other groups on information gathering
  • Research accounting literature and apply technical standards and analysis to complex or non-recurring business issues and transactions (including acquisitions and dispositions)
  • Prepare written accounting memos documenting such issues and transactions for review by senior management and external auditors
  • Assist in the development and evaluation of company accounting policies by monitoring the activities of all accounting standard setting bodies, including FASB, SEC and PCAOB, and evaluating the accounting and reporting impact of new standards, including the development of new accounting policies and coordination of the adoption of accounting standards
  • Establish and manage financial accounting and reporting policies including communication and adherence to such policies outside immediate accounting team
  • Manage the maintenance and update of accounting internal control policies and procedures and provide supporting documentation to internal audit regarding completion of control procedures
  • Coordinate with external auditors to provide requested documentation regarding financial statements and accounting treatment for specific transactions
  • Disseminate, organize and communicate regarding assignments and projects within the department and with constituents from other departments such as Corporate Accounting, Consolidations, and Tax
  • Review and manage the completion of required government filings
  • Perform special projects as needed

Job Requirements
What are we looking for?

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

  • BA/BS Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience
  • A minimum of three (3) years of Public Accounting experience or a minimum of three (3) years of Financial Reporting experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Understanding of general accounting policies and procedures at a transaction level
  • Attention to detail to prepare and review SEC filings and other financial statements
  • Proficient in Microsoft software applications, specifically Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of and/or experience working with general ledger systems and reporting packages, specifically PeopleSoft and Hyperion Financial Management
  • Ability to disaggregate, analyze and reconcile consolidated financial data in an accurate and timely manner

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience
  • Experience in SEC reporting
  • Experience working with Workiva (formerly WebFilings)
  • Experience with XBRL
  • In-depth experience with consolidation, revenue recognition, stock compensation, business combination, Rule 3-10 financial statements and/or derivatives and hedging accounting technical topics and research
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, domestically and internationally
