Job Description

***This position can be based in our corporate offices in Memphis, TN or McLean, VA***

The Senior Manager of Project Management will oversee the delivery of all projects assigned to the Centralized Accounting team to ensure projects are conducted in accordance with Hilton methodology, are completed in a timely manner, and deliver business and program solutions that enable the organization to achieve operating goals and targets. The Senior Manager role will involve hands-on project management for large projects and will be responsible for all aspects of the project over the entire life-cycle. The Senior Manager of Project Management will also provide finance senior leadership and Team Members with in-depth analysis of all pertinent finance data to support intelligent decision making in a timely manner. This will entail building and maintaining a robust reporting and analytics infrastructure to support the project management team.

What will I be doing?

  • Define and coordinate the securing of commitments from cross-functional groups and external providers in terms of resources, cost, schedule, and performance
  • Create and maintain a project plan
  • Manage key milestones and deliverables
  • Track and manage project NPV, budget, CAPEX, and expenses
  • Support the negotiation of contractor, vendor and partner relationships as needed to ensure the success of key projects
  • Assess actual performance against standards to determine if the project is on target and take corrective actions as necessary
  • Create and deliver regular status updates to all stakeholders
  • Escalate program risks and issues, and offer solutions
  • Establish close communication links with the various stakeholders (Finance, Accounting, IT, HR, Legal and Hotel teams)
  • Manage effective working relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Participate in the continued planning and development of solutions to enhance cost-savings and improve processes
  • Establish standards, processes and procedures that can be used across projects to ensure consistent high-quality in all projects
  • Work with stakeholders to prioritize projects by explaining resource requirements, constraints, etc.
  • Streamline business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within the department
  • Manage departmental processes and procedures to ensure the strategies and directives of department are carried out in accordance with department and company objectives
  • Determine staffing needs and oversee the recruiting, selecting, hiring, training and developing of department Team Members or contract project managers as required
  • Must have proven leadership capabilities

Job Requirements

What are we looking for?

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

  • BA/BS Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience managing projects
  • A minimum of three (3) years of Microsoft Suite experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years of managerial experience
  • Functional knowledge of various global back office financial systems (PeopleSoft, Sun, Navision)
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (50%)

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • MA/MS Master’s Degree
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience managing large projects
  • A minimum of five (5) years of Microsoft Suite experience, including Project and Visio
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in deployment strategies and change management
  • A minimum of four (4) years of managerial experience
  • Functional knowledge of Hilton property management systems (OnQ)
  • PMP
  • Six Sigma Certified
