Job Description

The Hilton Worldwide 2017 Corporate  Summer Internship Program will offer current students a unique opportunity to gain real world experience at our Global Headquarters in McLean, VA. The intent of this program is to develop the business leaders of tomorrow. Interns will work directly with the senior leaders as well as participate in practical learning workshops.


The eCommerce Intern will support eCommerce Managers in the day-to-day management and execution of market and hotel online marketing activities to position our assets to drive demand, create engagement and increase conversion to bookings.



Objectives:

 
  • Build a knowledge base of digital marketing/eCommerce principles and best practices

  •  
  • Understand the relationship between digital marketing/eCommerce and other disciplines in driving online performance for hotels

  •  
  • Learn how to craft a marketing strategy to meet business goals, determining appropriate tactics based on hotel type and business need

  •  
  • Develop a competency in executing a range of eCommerce initiatives to support hotels

  •  
  • Understand how to measure performance and impact of initiatives

  •  
  • Learn to innovate across stakeholders and to reach specific business objectives

  • What will I be doing?

       
    • Support eCommerce Managers in developing marketing strategy by researching market dynamics, competitors and potential partners.

    •  
    • Assist eCommerce Managers with execution of online demand opportunities including but not limited to property level email marketing and direct response media.

    •  
    • Develop and manage creative assets for campaigns. Assist in tracking campaigns, understanding and communicating performance.

    •  
    • Manage content updates to websites keeping all information and content up to date by using brand tools and content management systems.

    •  
    • Assist with content curation across hotel websites. Content must be fresh, engaging and position the hotel relative to competitive set.

    •  
    • Retail hotel offers via websites and third party placements.

    •    
    • Support eCommerce Managers in search engine optimization updates and tracking of key performance indicators for organic traffic.

    •    
    • Research and compare hotels against competitive set including but not limited to organic, local and paid search placement, onsite merchandizing, social media, rate retailing and more.

    •    
    • Help analyze hotel performance against standards to determine whether the hotels are on target to reach goals.

    •    
    • Communicate important and necessary information to eCommerce Managers and stakeholders via memos, reports, and phone calls.

    •    
    • Participate in corporate eCommerce and hotel level meetings.


    Job Requirements
    What are we looking for?

    We look for the demonstration of the following key attributes:

    • Applicants must be currently enrolled as a full-time college student with a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related degree studying digital trends, online marketing, website usability, eCommerce, mobile or related topics. Individuals can be a rising sophomore, junior or senior.
    • Applicants must possess a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher.
    • Ability to be on-site and work at assigned location.
    • Ability to work independently and in a group environment with strong interpersonal and team working skills.
    • Possess experience analyzing website performance and/or financial data and presenting findings to internal and/or external customers.
    • Possess strong written and verbal communication, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to interact with stakeholders and manage internal/external relationships.
    • Ability to take direction and meet deadlines. 
    • Strong problem solving skills, ability to act objectively to effectively address issues in collaboration with others, while keeping focus on organizational goals.
    • Ability to take initiative while demonstrating a positive demeanor and outlook.
    • Must be well organized and able to prioritize and multi task several projects at once.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
    • Applicants must have the ability to fluently speak, read, and write in English.
    • Applicants must be able to work in the U.S. without employment sponsorship.
