In recognition of National Caregivers Day, we’re honoring the Team Members who show up not only at work, but for the people they love at home. At Hilton, we know caregiving can take many forms, which is why we offer Wellthy, a benefit designed to help Team Members navigate the complex and often overwhelming responsibilities of caring for a loved ones. Wellthy offers comprehensive caregiving support, no matter the journey, for veterans, special need needs, mental health, aging, financial hardship, health conditions, childcare, teen support, and leaves of absence.
For Efia, Global Customer & Engagement Director at Hilton, Wellthy became a critical source of support during a challenging time for her family. As her father-in-law’s health declined and answers were hard to come by, Efia turned to Wellthy for help navigating the next steps, bringing clarity, relief, and peace of mind to her entire family. In this Q&A, Efia shares her caregiving journey, how Wellthy supported her along the way, and why having expert guidance made all the difference.

Can you share a bit about your caregiving journey and what led you to use Wellthy?
“My father-in-law was the main caregiver for my mother-in-law, whose physical health had been declining for some time. We noticed that his memory was also getting worse, and it didn’t feel like “just old age,” especially after a serious fall where he hit his head. He saw a doctor in December and was referred for a dementia assessment, but months passed without an appointment while his condition continued to worsen. I reached out to Wellthy because we needed help moving things forward and getting answers.”
How did Wellthy support you, and what specific services or resources did you use?
“We were assigned the lovely Amber, my personalized Wellthy caregiving concierge. We had an initial call to talk through what we thought we needed help with, but Amber immediately identified so many things we hadn’t even considered. She got straight to work: contacting my father-in-law’s doctors and chasing his assessment (which ultimately led to a diagnosis of vascular dementia), helping organize in-home support for both my father and mother-in-law, supporting us through power of attorney, checking benefits, and much more. She truly took the tasks off my plate and covered topics we didn’t even know to ask about.”
What impact did Wellthy have on you personally, at work, or at home?
“It took a huge amount of stress off our entire family. My husband and sisters-in-law all had access to Wellthy, so everyone had the same information at the same time. Wellthy removes the guesswork. They know exactly what to do and how to move things forward, which made a massive difference for us.”

Is there a moment or interaction that really stood out to you during your experience?
“There wasn’t one single moment, honestly, the entire experience was incredible. Having a professional who knows what you’re entitled to and how to push things along is priceless. And the fact that Hilton makes this a free benefit for Team Members makes it even more impactful.”
What would you say to another Team Member who may be considering using Wellthy?
"It’s absolutely worth it. It’s easy to set up, and they do the heavy lifting for you. You tell them the goal, and they help you get there, plus they highlight things you may not have even thought about.”
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your experience?
“Being able to give access to family members so they can stay involved is incredibly valuable. Sometimes the stress at home isn’t about you directly, but it still affects you because it involves the people you love. I really appreciate that Wellthy can support them too.”What are some of the most impactful Engineering wins you’ve
