Find Work that Works for You. Find Your Thing at Hilton.

To celebrate the launch of our new Employer Brand Awareness campaign, 'Find Your Thing,' we asked our Team Members, “What is your ‘Thing’ at Hilton?”

For Morgan and Jessica, Hilton's commitment to continuing education through a partnership with Guild has allowed them to find their thing by learning, growing, and thriving in areas where they experience the most fulfillment.

Morgan Mahnke, Lead Sales, Catering & Events Coordinator, Hilton Minneapolis

“Hilton's partnership with Guild Education has allowed me to enroll in classes to earn professional certifications, which has in turn sparked my interest in Salesforce Administration. I have been able to use the skills I am learning in my courses to help my property utilize Salesforce programs to a greater extent. Problem solving to improve internal processes has become one of my favorite things about my job!”

Jessica Pai, Recruiter, Recruitment Operations Center

“Hilton has helped me discover my passion for learning and has assisted me in pursuing that passion. I have been able to take advantage of the partnership Hilton has with Guild Education to enroll in a course on Project Management, and I am working towards a PMP Certification!”

Team Members Mira and Lincoln have found their “Thing” by putting our values into action – spreading the light and warmth of hospitality in our hotels and in their local communities.

Mira Macud, Administrative Assistant, Conrad Manila

“Here at the Conrad Manila, my “Thing” is giving to and sharing with our community! With the help of some of my fellow Team Members, I have established an annual food program for a local school that serves special needs students. From the time I started the program in 2019, and even throughout the pandemic, we prioritized giving in any way we could to ensure the students and teachers felt appreciated and seen.”

Lincoln Kee, Senior Director, Talent & Leadership Development, APAC

“I knew I had found my “Thing” in 2015, when I was part of the launch team for the Hilton Myanmar Vocational Training Centre. That was when I stopped questioning if I could really make a difference, and started asking, ‘What difference can I make during my time at Hilton?’ Having the opportunity to upskill local Myanmar students, and seeing their generosity, kindness, and success was my purpose moment.”

Patricia and Hazel have found their “Thing” at Hilton by service, facilitating memorable moments, and creating inclusive environments where guests and Team Members alike feel cared for and welcome.

Patricia Young, Guest Engagement Specialist, HRCC (Hilton Reservations and Customer Care)

My “Thing” is turning someone’s difficult day into a good day! I love the challenge of turning a negative into a positive. I always provide the guest with my name, and then I tell them I will handle their situation until it is fully resolved. I begin by asking what happened, and then I listen and take notes. Once the guest realizes they have someone on the line who will truly help them, the situation starts to diffuse and typically ends on a friendly note. This is a huge win for our reservations team, hotel teams, and our guests.”

Hazel Tarzona, Outlet Manager, Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort

“My “Thing” is to be the sunshine at work. It gives me a huge sense of fulfillment whenever I make a positive difference in someone's day—be it a Team Member or a guest. I live to inspire, instill learning, and share positivity with the people around me. Thank you, Hilton, for the wonderful culture you cultivate for your Team Members. It has allowed me to find the “Thing” that brings me joy.”

For Team Members Judy and Michelle, Hilton’s extensive learning and development resources and culture of growth have helped them find their “Thing” – careers where they are passionate about their work every day.

Judy Chen, Assistant Recruitment Manager, Hilton Guangzhou Science City

“During my three years with Hilton, I have overseen personnel administration and human relations, transferred to a position on the Compensation team, and within time, I was offered an opportunity on the Recruitment team. In 2022, I was even recognized with an Annual Outstanding Team Member award. I would like to thank Hilton for providing extensive training and development opportunities to all Team Members.”

Michelle Schomburg, Director, Human Resources, Hilton Vancouver Washington

“Hilton has helped me discover my love for working behind the scenes to support people. Not only was Hilton my first hospitality job, but it was also my first Human Resources position. I previously had a career as an editor for a medical website. After working independently from home for a few years, I wanted to venture out and discover a new industry, and I found myself trying out HR with Hilton. A couple of hotels and 11+ years later, I know I have found my passion in helping others in a Heart of House role!”
