Get to Know Spencer
Spencer’s journey with Hilton began in 2017 as a Duty Manager. His leadership and commitment quickly became evident, leading to his promotion to Assistant Front Office Manager in 2019. During the challenging months of the pandemic, Spencer’s dedication shone brightly. He volunteered to stay in-house at Conrad Manila for ten months, ensuring the safety and comfort of guests quarantining during that uncertain time. Reflecting on this period, Spencer shares, “We hoped to continue assisting our guests and keep them safe from the terrible effects of COVID-19.”
In 2023, Spencer’s outstanding leadership skills earned him the role of Front Office Manager. Under his guidance, the team has flourished, embracing a culture of learning and development.
Discovering a Passion for Art
While Spencer has always been creative, it was during the pandemic that his passion for art blossomed. Spending long hours in-house, he found solace and inspiration in the abstract paintings displayed at Conrad Manila. “I would constantly pass by Gallery C to look at the abstract paintings on display,” Spencer recalls. This inspiration ignited a creative spark, leading him to start painting during his days off.
Sharing his artwork on social media, Spencer’s talent quickly garnered attention. His colleagues requested pieces for their homes, and soon after, Conrad Manila’s PR consultant introduced his work to the curator for the hotel’s esteemed Gallery C. Spencer’s dedication and talent culminated in his first solo exhibit within a year of pursuing painting. “It is now my second year creating paintings, and I am still in disbelief that within my first year, I was featured in a solo exhibit in a gallery that hosts nationally recognized artists,” Spencer says, reflecting on this achievement. “Seeing my artwork in the gallery for the first time, I felt euphoric.”
Finding Inspiration in Times of Hardship
Spencer’s exhibit, titled "Positive [ Negative," is profoundly personal and symbolic of the pandemic’s dark times and the resilience that followed. Tragically, Spencer lost his parents, brother, and a close cousin in one year. This profound loss fueled his emotional and creative expression. The exhibit’s opening, coincidentally on his mother’s birthday, became a celebration of her life and dedication. “It was the defining moment of my creative being, and that Hilton gave me an opportunity to share my talents made it more empowering.” Spencer shares.

Empowered to Thrive
Hilton’s supportive environment has been instrumental in Spencer’s dual journey of hospitality and art. “Working at Hilton has allowed me to pursue my passion in the arts and develop my career holistically,” Spencer notes. Beyond his role at the Front Office, he has helped host events and created murals commemorating significant milestones at Hilton.
Spencer’s dedication extends beyond personal achievements. He has used his art to give back to the community, teaching art at Manila City Jail and creating murals for the Philippine Institute for the Deaf, one of Conrad Manila’s community partners. His involvement with the Rotary Club of Manila helped raise substantial funds for the Hospicio de San Jose orphanage. The proceeds from his sold artwork for the fundraiser went directly to the foundation.
