Hilton: A Great Place to Work for Women Around the World

Today, Hilton is proud to be recognized as the  #1 Best Workplace for Women in the U.S. by Fortune and Great Place to Work! This honor joins the many other #GPTW4Women accolades we’ve received globally – U.K. (#2), Peru (#2), Colombia (#10), Argentina (#2) and Italy (#13), showing that Hilton is truly a great workplace for women around the world.

Women at Hilton shine and help others shine, too. We asked some of our Team Members to share a woman at Hilton who has inspired them in their career. Check out their touching tributes below.   “Emma Banks: Vice President, F&B Strategy & Development, EMEA. She is my guru! She is so charismatic, passionate and full of life. Emma is a thought-leader, a trendsetter, a writer and always calls attention to important topics like work-life balance, women, diversity, mindful eating and living a sustainable lifestyle. I also really admire her stage presence and hope to one day be able to command the stage like she does!” Emilia Gozza, Marketing & PR Manager,  Hilton Lake Como, EMEA  “Katie Fallon: Executive Vice President, Communications & External Affairs. Since joining Hilton, I’ve had the indelible fortune of interacting and collaborating with so many inspirational female leaders who have served as mentors, sponsors and friends.  Katie Fallon is undoubtedly one of those leaders.  She epitomizes integrity, leads by example and has the ability to unlock the potential in talent.  Through her authentic nature, she helps team members transform their perception of their own capabilities, enabling them to see the best in themselves, increase their productivity, and go above and beyond to deliver.”
DeShaun Wise Porter, VP, Diversity, Inclusion & Recognition, Global
Patricia Page-Champion: SVP, Global Commercial Director. Coming straight out of hotel operations as a GM into my first VP of Operations role, I realized that the team of regional specialists were going to be my most important allies. When I first met Patricia Page-Champion, I was blown away by her natural confidence, friendliness and her knowledge of the business. We ‘clicked’ immediately and it made my transition into the region so much easier! Patricia would call me every two weeks on her way to work and we would not only chat about the business but also about our families. That personal connection is so important!
Patricia has supported me in the seven years we have been working together and I have tried to do the same for her and her team. In my own role, I have emulated our regular calls now with my direct reports. The personal connection Patricia built with me when I joined the team early on has helped us achieve better results and has ultimately helped me become a better manager.” Jochem-Jan Sleiffer, Area President Operations, MEA

Susan Wang, Director, Talent & Leadership Development, APAC. The reality is more than one female leader has inspired me during my 11 years with Hilton, and Susan has been the most influential one because we have been working together in the same team for the past 9 years. She has taught me many lessons on resilience, patience and gratitude during my time at Hilton through her own experiences from life and work. She embodies the everyday Team Members who juggle work, family and health and she manages it the best she can. Her ability to always bounce back from setbacks is what I admire the most and it continues to be an inspiration. I am very grateful to have met her during my time at Hilton as she is surely one of the many reasons that makes Hilton a great place to work for me.”    Lincoln Kee, Director, Leadership & Talent Development, APAC

“Marilyn Soper was the General Manager of the Hilton Toronto, the hotel where I worked as a trainee when I joined Hilton 20 years ago. We’ve made a lot of progress since then, but at the time she was the only female in this type of role in our region.  Working along with her made me see that being a female GM would be a dream within reach for myself at Hilton, too. I learned from her that it's OK to be different and that good leadership has no gender.”
