“Attending the GRAMMY Awards ® has always been a cherished dream of mine and my daughter. When I received the contest email, I decided to take a chance and enter (and I am so glad I did!).” 

What was your experience like spending the weekend in Los Angeles to attend the 2024 GRAMMY Awards ®?  

“This weekend can be best described as amazing and unforgettable. The Hilton Team exceeded expectations from start to finish.” 

What was your favorite part of this entire experience?

“Having the opportunity to experience it with my daughter, walking past some of our favorite stars such as Miley Cyrus (my daughter grew up loving Hanna Montana) on the red carpet was surreal.”

How did Hilton make the Stay for you during your 2024 GRAMMY Awards® experience?

“Hilton laid out the red carpet for my entire family! Everything was accounted for, from small touches like sweet treats in our room to the concierge who provided us with a list of activities to keep the kids entertained! We especially enjoyed the late-night meal of In-N-Out Burger, which is a must-have for my wife every time we visit her hometown of LA!”  

What was your favorite part of this entire experience?

“Even though I cannot sing, I felt like a nominee during the trip. My hats off to all my fellow Team Members who work to make these experiences special for our customers and key stakeholders. I will say that finding myself on the actual red carpet next to stars like Billy Joel, Fantasia, and Billie Eilish was not what I anticipated, but I can now cross that off the bucket list!” 

What is your favorite part about working for Hilton?

“All of us spend an incredible amount of time working, whether it be in the office, on the road, or even just in front of a computer. To work for a company that recognizes that enormous commitment and works to create an environment where Team Members are valued and can thrive is what makes me look forward to Mondays. Opportunities like attending the GRAMMY Awards ® are an incredible and unimaginable reward, but the commitment I see daily across the enterprise to support and lift the people behind the Hilton brand is what truly makes me proud to be a Hilton Team Member.”

What was your favorite part of this entire experience?

“As a security professional I’ve had the honor and privilege to escort some of the greatest stars in Los Angeles, but to be an attendee alongside the stars and not herding the crowds as I usually do was an awesome experience.” 

What is your favorite part about working for Hilton?

“The opportunities! Hilton has opened my career to new doors, unique challenges, and experiences that I will never forget. No matter the challenge, I continue to learn and grow because of every chapter.” 

How did Hilton make the Stay for you during your 2024 GRAMMY Awards® experience?

“Everyone I interacted with was kind, responsive and helpful!”

What first sparked your interest in moving to HR consulting, and what skills or perspectives from your early roles in feasibility still influence the way you approach your work today?“I was very inspired when Hilton was named the #1 workplace. I remember being at the in-person celebration in McLean and realizing just how much HR shapes the Team Member experience. As someone who is very purpose-driven, the opportunity to create meIn my current role, I support the Development team and help align HR strategy with Hilton’s growth strategy. Coming from a hotel real estate and feasibility background, I bring a strong understanding of the business to the role. Having previously parHow did Hilton support your transition into HR consulting and help you navigate that change with confidence?“Hilton played a huge role in supporting my transition, and the API Team Member Resource Group (TMRG) was especially impactful. TMRGs at Hilton are open to all Team Members, including community members and allies. When I first became interested in HRHaley and fellow Hilton Team Members attend the Great Place to Work Summit. What about hospitality, and Hilton specifically, has kept you engaged and excited throughout your career?“My passion for hospitality started early – I grew up in six cities across the US and Belgium. Moving frequently and traveling exposed me to new cultures, foods, and people, and sparked my love for connection. To me, that is the essence of hospitalitI have always believed hospitality has the power to build bridges between people from different backgrounds, which is why I’m so grateful to work for a company that brings that to life every day. What keeps me at Hilton is the alignment with its missOutside your role in HR consulting, you also help build connections and community across Hilton. How has that involvement shaped your sense of purpose and the way you show up at work? “I have been an active member and volunteer with the API TMRG since I started at Hilton in 2021, and as of January this year, I became one of the TMRG leaders. The API TMRG has always been a special space for me. Along the way, she learned to adapt when needed.“My journey has been one filled with curiosity and innovation through necessity,” Kim explains.Today, her role allows her to influence multiple areas of the business, leading a team that develops resources delivered across platforms, messaging, and learning events for hotels, owners, and internal teams.Career Growth Through Perspective and OpportunityFor Kim, some of the most impactful moments in her career were not tied to titles, but instead to perspective shifts.“They were the moments that forced introspection — assessing my approach and identifying opportunities to shift my own perspective,” she reflects.Kim and her daughter enjoy a family vacation.Beyond introspection, Kim developed further by taking on opportunities she did not expect.“I gravitate towards roles that enable me to expand my skills or contribute to the development of others,” she explains. “Many of my career shifts have been anchored in my love of knowledge and learning.”Each shift broadened her exposure and leadership experience and was reinforced by leaders who invested in her potential.“I have experienced multiple leaders who have taken an interest in my growth and career,” Kim says. “They have taught me new skills, helped to expand my network, and trusted me.
