Job Description
The Assistant Director of Business Development will work with the Director of Business Development – NT, to maximize the four NT hotels revenue performance and grow market share through commercial activities across our cluster revenue, sales and marketing functions. The Assistant Director of Business Development will be the direct support for the DBD - NT and assume delegated responsibilities across the NT properties in the absence of the DBD - NT.

What will I be doing?
Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
    • Assist in delivering all hotel revenues including: Rooms / Group, Conference and Events / Food and Beverage / Other revenues 
    • Assist in the production of the annual Revenue Plan, budgets and forecasts in conjunction with Hotel Team
    • Analyse performance of existing accounts, production statistics and identify potential new business, markets and trends (new identified accounts, competitors' hotelligence)
    • Prepare forecasts by market segment alongside the cluster revenue manager, as per company requirements and monitor actual versus forecast for plan achievement.
    • Assist the Revenue Manager to ensure that all revenue opportunities in HRCC & GDS are exploited by developing and maintaining knowledge of the systems and the commercial application of them, ensuring maximum use of available controls in all systems
    •  Assist the Revenue Manager to ensure that commercial management techniques of availability control are applied to achieve a maximisation of rooms' sales and revenue for the hotel. Ensure availability is reviewed as per required standards and all restrictions are recorded.
    • Monitor production and profitability of sales packages.
    • Work with and support the business development team to ensure commercial activities including revenue, sales and marketing are active in the market and relevant to ensure optimal performance across all revenue functions.
    • Identify the capabilities of the hotel to serve the various types of business and programming of hotel sales efforts to solicit those sources the hotel is best qualified to serve, profitably.
Job Requirements

 What  are we looking for?

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills across different functions and levels within the business , including with Management and Ownership groups
  • A demonstration of Leadership skills to ensure driving the vision for all revenue streams, from a Divisional, Cluster and hotel perspective
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Ability to perform critical analysis and develop accurate findings
  • Ability to work well under deadline pressure and/or travel
  • Certifiable in the use of all Hilton revenue management database systems and tools. Strong experience or adaptable training in the use of automated systems, computers and software programs, including Microsoft Office
  • Sales experience in either field or on-site environment
  • Adaptable to travel as required and schedule changes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and possession of a full understanding of professional ethics, decorum and social skills. Extensive interaction with customers, investment ownership and business partners required. Must be able to adapt to different audiences dictated by culture and country or origin
  • Three year college degree or experience equivalent
  • Significant experience of three (3) or more years in revenue management or analytical roles
  • Has had 2 years cross-functional experience in operations or hotel management and brand exposure
  • Leadership and Team Management
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
  • Adaptable experience with travel industry reservation systems
  • Adaptable experience with hotel property management systems
  • Strong experience in hospitality forecasting, pricing and inventory control
