Job Summary

The Director, Finance - APAC HAFS Process Lead will assume end-to-end responsibility for overseeing one of the four Process Towers within the APAC HAFS Project, those being: Order to Cash (Accounts Receivable), Procure to Pay (Accounts Payable), Record to Report (Income Audit), and Hire to Retire (Payroll). They will be responsible for managing the transformation of hotel-level transactional activities to an above-property business model by gathering documentation on the current state, streamlining/standardizing, and migrating select activities to a centralize environment. The APAC HAFS Process Leader will own the tower processes and controls environments, providing leadership and direction on the set up and best practices to form truly global processes while demonstrating excellent strategic and leadership skills in a fast-paced, progressive environment, where continuous improvement and seeking optimal solutions is critical

What will I be doing?

The Director, Finance - APAC HAFS Process Lead will be a core project Process Tower leader for the APAC HAFS Project, responsible for shifting select transactional finance and accounting activities to a centralized service delivery model.

Key priorities:

  • Work with HAFS PMO to establish project governance framework for consistent approach to gathering information, workflow, and outward communication to project stakeholders
  • Devise and lead the implementation of the relevant governance standards, protocols and reporting to demonstrate the ongoing delivery to the business and supporting best in class services
  • Develop execution plans to implement long term goals for the function that become the basis for short term goals and annual operational planning
  • Lead the establishment and ongoing maintenance of policy, procedures, internal controls and processes in relation to the respective Process Tower activities and for the business, working with other functional global leads to establish clear ownership and consistency
  • Under the direction of the APAC HAFS PMO, devise the centralization strategy to engender a culture of continuous review and improvement; team member progression and ongoing success of the centralized function and services.
  • Plan and own the financial performance, monitoring delivery against plans and identify the necessary adjustments to ensure the function meets the business goals
  • Execute directives of organization mission, goals and objectives, demonstrating through ongoing and direct motivation, communication, group dynamics and leadership.
  • Provide direction and directives to the functional leadership in the performance of their objectives and duties, establishing priorities in achieving functional strategy and objectives
  • Ownership of the Process Tower processes and activities providing services to the organization through centralized services
  • Oversee and evaluate business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within the department, identifying opportunities to automate and eliminate non-value add work
  • Deliver accurate and timely close process for Hilton and hotel ownership groups
  • Seek out and create opportunities to support the effective cross functional collaboration and maintenance of relationships with all relevant stakeholders, supporting the entire centralized service delivery to the business
  • Work with other functional and business leaders to drive the end to end Process Tower process efficiency and effectiveness
  • Provide input to evaluations of potential systems, based on current state understanding, future strategy and the wider technology environment and opportunities
  • Lead the team and relationships to ensure the ongoing success of key financial systems & interfaces; systems development, including review and approval of identified solutions and requirements, driving function participation and adoption, etc.
  • Provision of functional and financial information to support the business, as well opportunities to further business progression
  • Overall ownership of the function end-to-end process and controls environment, driving action and activity to support the successful outcome of SOX, external and owner audit programs
  • Ensure all activities are in compliance with Company Policies as outlined in the global accounting policy manual(s)
  • Devise the strategy and approach and drive the implementation of programs to support standardization
  • Drive change management initiatives, actively engaging other teams to support cross-functional changes to processes and new ways of working
  • Engage with the relevant business stakeholders to support accurate and timely accounting in Hilton's financial statements
  • Coordinate with all project impacted stakeholders to ensure all necessary information is compiled, reviewed, and approved as necessary and appropriate
  • Ability to work cross borders; communicating and leading change in a globally diverse environment
  • Set standards for leadership by example, including ability to effect change, resolve conflicts and ensure collaboration within appropriate levels of enterprise; includes maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity
  • Ability to take initiative to identify, prioritize and implement all elements required for the team to fulfill responsibilities in keeping with core strategic goals
  • Strong problem solving skills, including the ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate; ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems
  • Absolute discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive information

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting experience
  • Minimum two (2) years Director experience
  • Accounting knowledge of industry standards, GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOP's)
  • Direct hotel or hospitality industry experience
  • Experience working with an outsource provider
  • BA/BS/Bachelor's Degree
  • 5-7 Years of related experience
  • 2+ Years of management or supervisory experience
  • Ability to travel on regular basis, overnight as needed
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, all necessary documents to travel internationally as needed
