Job Summary

As the Manager, Financial Systems, Budgets and Forecasts, you will be responsible for leading the business side of enhancements and improvements of the Hyperion Planning applications (PLANHLT, HPC, AllcRPT2), Metadata, and related processes, as well as oversee the enterprise-wide financial data load and validation process, working with all reporting segments and the Hyperion support organization. You will work closely with Hyperion Support to maximize system uptime during critical periods to meet all of the critical business delieverables, and to prioritize change releases to ensure the application(s) is/are ready to accept, process and report data in a consistent and efficient manner.

What will I be doing?

The nature of this role will require a highly organized individual, who has the ability to manage and lead peers and others in both finance and non-finance functions to achieve team goals. Initiative, independence, and strong analytical skills are key requirements for this position. The ideal candidate should possess strong problem solving skills with the ability to proactively identify any potential issues and resolutions in a collaborative manner if appropriate. As the Manager of Financial Systems, Budgets, and Forecasts, your contributions to the organization will enable the business to provide quality and timely data for the CFO, CEO, and the Executive Management team in order to manage the enterprise across business segments and geographies.

As a Team Member in this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Representing Finance and the business as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all matters related to Hyperion systems
  • Possessing strong communication and negotiation skills to influence impacted groups to accomplish organization's mission
  • Acting as the go-to person on all communication, inquiry and related subjects on Hyperion applications
  • Developing strong partnership with Metadata Governance, Hyperion IT Support teams, and key business stakeholders to support organization's goals and objectives
  • Overseeing and evaluating Hyperion applications to support the development of immediate and long-term financial goals and planning cycles
  • Managing the Finance calendar, activities, projects and communicating timelines with the Hyperion IT Support team to maximize system uptime and calculations to support critical deliverables
  • Overseeing the entire budget, forecast, actual data load, validation, calculations, and other related system processes to meet all critical deliverables with the upmost data integrity
  • Developing in-depth knowledge on Code Block and Metadata including, metadata request process and criteria, and its impact on Hyperion systems and users
  • Managing metadata change requests to ensure accurate and critical metadata are set up timely in Hyperion Planning applications to support business operations
  • Leading the business and Hyperion IT Support team to manage enhancements and improvements to Hyperion systems, Metadata and related processes
  • Evaluating and streamlining business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within the department
  • Providing guidance and leadership to Team Members on Hyperion Planning design and functionality as well as Metadata, and its impact to daily tasks and reporting needs
  • Assessing actual performance against standards to determine whether the Hyperion Planning team is on target to reach goals and takes corrective actions as necessary
  • Helping lead and oversee the support and maintenance of Hyperion Planning/Essbase (business rules, planning forms, variables, data validation and data integrity)
  • Managing and identifying business and system opportunities for process, reporting and analytic improvements
  • Participating as a major contributor on special projects related to Hyperion applications

What are we looking for?

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum Education: BA/BS Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum Years of Experience: five (5) years in Corporate Finance, Financial Planning and Analysis, or Management Consulting
  • Minimum Years of Experience: three (3) years working as a Hyperion Planning Administrator or Power User
  • Management Experience (type): Project Management/Process Management
  • Additional Requirements (i.e. % of travel time, etc.): Travel will be less than 10%

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Minimum Years of Management Experience: 1-3 years
  • Minimum Years of Experience: five (5) years working as a Hyperion Planning Administrator or Power User
  • Previous Hyperion Planning implementation experience
  • Certified Training and/or Certification for Hyperion Planning
  • Experience leading non-technical personnel in requirements gathering and implementation
