Job Summary

A Shared Services Payroll Administrator will assist with the administration and maintenance of all payroll data, in line with the relevant Southern African country legislative requirements and tax compliance. 



What will I be doing?

As Shared Services Payroll Administrator, you will assist with the capturing and maintenance of payroll records and reports. The Shared Services Payroll Administrator will be expected to use SAGE VIP to complete payroll responsibilities. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Assist the Payroll Manager with the maintenance of payroll records and provide related payroll reports for the hotels under the umbrella of the centralized accounting system using SAGE VIP
  • Support the Payroll team in effective communication with the relevant Shared Services properties
  • Assist with the month end process, as it relates to payroll costs, and ensure all work is completed on time with all relevant accounts reconciled
  • Input month end payroll and overtime accruals
  • Ensure accuracy with the input of hours to payroll system
  • Build a strong relationship with the Human Resource Department of each property to ensure the accurate input of salary history
  • Ensure Team Member pay queries are resolved on a timely basis through collaboration with the relevant HR and/or Finance department
  • Ensure effective controls are in place over payroll expenses, in line with Hilton standard practices and procedures
  • Work with Finance Managers, HR Managers and IT Teams to deliver system and process improvements to enhance Payroll function efficiency
  • Ensure compliance in line with local legislation, specifically pertaining to the payroll countries you are responsible for

It would be a minimum requirement in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Experience with the SAGE VIP system - a minimum of 2 years hands on experience with payroll
  • Experience in the hotel, leisure or retail sector
  • Experience with African Country payroll
