At Hilton, we’re committed to supporting our Team Members’ growth, both in and outside the workplace. Through our partnership with Guild, eligible Team Members in the U.S. can access various educational opportunities from leading universities and learning providers, including college degrees and college prep courses, foundational learning, certificate programs, and more.
At Hilton Americas-Houston, several Team Members have embraced the opportunity to learn and grow through Guild-supported programs, including hospitality management, digital marketing, information technology, English language learning, and more. Their stories showcase how education can empower and open doors to opportunity. Hear from a few below as they reflect on what they’ve learned and how it’s already making an impact.
Alejandro Rodriguez, Assistant Director of Security

“Taking the English language course through Guild was a valuable experience for me. It significantly improved my understanding of the language, which has made a noticeable difference in my day-to-day work. I now feel more confident when writing reports and emails, and my communication overall has improved. The course was informative but also engaging and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this program to any Team Member looking to enhance their English skills and improve their workplace communication, especially if they are someone like me whose first language is not English.”
Salimah Ali, Sr. Catering Administrative Assistant

“I have loved my experience with Guild, and have taken programs for skills that I have always been interested in and can use in my current position and for future opportunities. I love how all the programs are at your own pace and online, which offers much flexibility. So far, I’ve taken Hotel Revenue Management, Data Analytics Professional Certificate, & Facebook Digital Marketing Certificate with Content Strategy. The Data Analytics course really helped in my use of Excel in my role more than I could have ever imagined. It also exposed me to Tableau and SQL, which were very new subjects, which increased my interest in Data Analytics for the future.”
Raymond Hong, Banquet Cook

“Taking the Fundamentals of Information Technology (CompTIA ITF) Certificate course has been a valuable experience for me, both personally and professionally. As someone who is currently a full-time Team Member, I truly appreciated the flexibility the course offered. It allowed me to balance my current responsibilities while still gaining new knowledge and skills that align with my career goals. One of the things I found most helpful was how easy the course was to navigate. I especially enjoyed the sections on coding, which I’m excited to build on as a stepping stone toward my goal of hopefully transitioning into an IT role within Hilton.”
Joanna Avila-Celis, Sr. Events Administrative Assistant

“Through Guild, I’ve made significant progress toward my bachelor's in hospitality at Johnson and Wales University, with Guild’s support covering tuition. So far, I’ve completed several impactful courses, including Orientation to the Hospitality Industry, Beverage Appreciation, Hospitality Law, Communication Skills, The Working Life (exploring the evolution of work over time), and Managing the Hotel Guest Experience. Each course has deepened my understanding of hospitality and strengthened my passion for the industry. My coursework has been eye-opening and directly applicable to my current role as the Sr. Events Admin Assistant.”
