At Hilton, we are committed to providing the best possible support to our Team Members, including those in the National Guard and Reserve. Our shared values, workplace flexibility, and diverse range of positions are just a few of the ways we are working to support these Team Members, our veterans, and their families as part of our unwavering commitment to being the best place to work for all.
One of the many ways we achieve this goal is through our Military Team Member Resource Group (TMRG). Working in support of the military community, this group coordinates events like “Bosslifts,” where Hilton leaders who have current Guard and Reserve members on their teams can observe soldiers on duty. These events provide an opportunity for Team Hilton to visit National Guard bases, better understand the soldiers' mission and the incredible work they do and show their support for the brave individuals who serve our country.
Continue reading as leaders who recently attended Bosslifts share their experience on-base and how it has impacted the way they support our Team Members who serve.
Jeff Shepherd, Area General Manager, Homewood Suites & Hampton Inn Bozeman

“I am, by way of my father, a military brat. I spent time on his ships growing up and was lucky to have a lot of exposure to the Navy and its way of life. Even so, it was a wonderful experience to be on that Chinook helicopter and fly around Montana. The openness of all the leaders on the base to be present and available for questions and conversation about the Guard made for an incredible learning experience. They were enthusiastic in their approach and education.
The entire organization is exemplary, and I was impressed with the entire day. This experience enhanced my ability to inform and talk about the Guard with active members who may be searching for a career.”
Don Willingham, Vice President, Brand Performance Support

“It was an incredible experience and a wonderful opportunity to better understand the mission of the National Guard and Reserve. I was especially impacted by the Air National Guard's sincere appreciation for the various employers in Memphis who have Team Members currently serving in the military or the military reserves. This experience gave me an even stronger appreciation for our Hilton Team Members who currently serve, or have previously served, our country and positively impact many people's lives in many ways.”
Sarah Edwards, Director, Design, Focused Service Brands

“I was honored to participate in the Bosslift at the Memphis Air National Guard base in August. We took part in behind-the-scenes operations at the base and attended a briefing on the Air National Guard’s mission and a training flight on a C-17 aircraft. The highlight of the day was sitting in the cockpit while the plane landed. I appreciated this chance to learn more about Hilton’s Guard and Reserve team members, their service to our country, and how to best support their roles.”
