At Hilton, the Task Force Operations team is a dynamic group of leaders who provide support to our hotels in North America, stepping in to assist during times of transition, special events, or unique challenges. For Perrin, joining the Task Force Operations team as the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage was a dream come true!
As a part of Hilton’s Task Force Operations team, Perrin travels across the United States, sharing her expertise and gaining new experiences at Hilton properties in cities like Washington DC, New York, Indianapolis, and Beverly Hills. In this blog, Perrin shares how Hilton's commitment to growth, development, and opportunity has empowered her to thrive in her career and make strong connections along the way.
Meet Perrin
“My career in hospitality began in 2011 at a small restaurant in my hometown, where I worked as a host. One day, I had the opportunity to meet the General Manager of a soon-to-open Hilton hotel in Carlsbad, California, the Cape Rey by Hilton. Upon his recommendation, I applied for a position, and a few months later, I joined as a Supervisor. During my time there, I developed a deep passion for hospitality and the numerous career paths it offers. In 2018, I was seeking experience in luxury hospitality, a role at another hotel in Southern California. In 2021, Hilton took over Monarch Beach Resort, transforming it into Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach. I applied for a Food & Beverage management role in April 2021, officially beginning my career with Hilton.”
What excites you about the work you do at Hilton?
“What excites me most about working at Hilton is the company's commitment to fostering growth and development regardless of position or title. Hilton's leadership has consistently invested in my personal and professional development, reflecting the strength of the company's core values.”
Please share your experience with Taskforce. What properties have you worked at? What are some highlights from this experience?
“In January of this past year, I assumed the role of Assistant Director of Food and Beverage within Hilton's Task Force Operations team—a role I have aspired to since beginning my hospitality career. This position has allowed me to travel and support various properties across the United States, including those in Washington DC, New York, Indianapolis, Beverly Hills, and more. The most impactful aspect of this experience has been the opportunity to work with exceptional teams at each location, who have always made me feel welcome despite being away from home. Notably, during my time at Conrad Washington DC, I supported the team through a leadership transition and played a key role in organizing several VIP events.”
How has Hilton supported your career growth and development?
“Hilton has been instrumental in supporting my career growth and development from the outset. Both the leadership teams at the property level and the corporate office have maintained open communication, offering guidance on refining my skills and learning new ones. While working at Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach, I expanded my skill set into Finance despite primarily focusing on Food and Beverage, which has enhanced my ability to make informed business decisions. During my time in the Task Force role, each property has actively encouraged my participation in professional development opportunities, further contributing to my growth.”
Reflecting on your overall career, what is one thing that has surprised you about your journey?
“Reflecting on my overall career, one thing that has pleasantly surprised me is my ability to engage and connect with teams across different properties seamlessly. Moving from one hotel to another, I have had the unique opportunity to build strong relationships with diverse groups, each with its own culture and dynamics. This has allowed me to share my expertise in food and beverage systems and operations and learn from the various teams I work with. The level of mutual trust and collaboration I have experienced has been incredibly rewarding, and it is reaffirmed my passion for fostering growth and efficiency wherever I go.”
What makes Hilton a Great Place to Work for you?
