Get to know Jennifer
“Before Hilton, my background was in software development and real estate. However, when I started my career with Hilton, I began working-from-home as a Reservations Sales Specialist with Hilton Reservations and Customer Care (HRCC). Since then, I have coached Team Members in reservation sales, customer care, the new hire experience program, social media, and executive customer relations before transitioning into my current role in April 2022 as a Learning Manager, HRCC.” "On a personal note, I live in the Dallas Fort Worth area, I’ve been married for twenty-four years, and my son will graduate from the University of North Texas this year.”
You celebrated 13 years as a Hilton HRCC Team Member before transitioning to your current role. From your experience, what makes the HRCC team at Hilton unique and special?
“Our HRCC team is special because we can assist Hilton guests before, during, and after their stay. We are the friendly voices on the phone, in email, via chat, and on social media that take the time to connect with our guests about what is most important to them during their Hilton stay. Whether we are helping a guest plan a trip to celebrate a special occasion, finding them a hotel after their flight is canceled, or assisting them with their Hilton Honors account, we have the privilege of creating personalized experiences that make a lasting memory with every single guest." "Ultimately, I love that, as an HRCC Team Member, we can change someone's day for the better.”How did your time as an HRCC Team Member prepare you for a long and successful career at Hilton?
"Starting with my very first day in new hire training, it was evident that there are numerous development opportunities within the HRCC team. In addition to sales and service training and coaching, I had the opportunity to learn about our brands, the Hilton Honors program, and many areas of Hilton Operations." "In addition to gaining sales and service skills, Guest Engagement Specialists on the HRCC team learn the importance of accuracy, effective communication, and time management—all of which are key to a successful career."How has Hilton and the HRCC leadership team supported your career growth and development over the years?
“Hilton provides a variety of development opportunities to Team Members, including Hilton University, continuing education with Guild, exploring opportunities on a temporary work assignment, and many others. " "In fact, a temporary assignment with our Learning team sparked my interest in instructional design, leading to my current position. I shared my interest with my HRCC leadership team, volunteered when opportunities were available, and applied what I learned during temporary work assignments to develop my team. At the same time, my HRCC leadership team provided invaluable time and support to assist in my development while helping to guide my career path."
How has Hilton and the HRCC team supported you to thrive in both your personal and professional life?
“After a medical issue affected my ability to drive in February 2014, Hilton allowed me the opportunity to pilot working-from-home. After a successful pilot, I continued working-from-home, and other Development Coaches were also offered the same opportunity. Within a couple of years from that time, my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Working from home offered me the flexibility to work around my mother’s needs but, most importantly, it allowed me to have more quality time with her.” "Another positive impact of my career at Hilton, and particularly working-from-home, is that my son observed the attention and effort given to my teams and my career. From helping me memorize my first HRCC script sharing a partner offer, to going to the post office with me to mail cards and packages to my work-at-home teams or sitting through ‘just one more’ of my first attempts at creating training videos and modules, he’s learned that kindness can not only make a difference in someone’s day, but also someone’s life, and that growth requires effort.”Why is Hilton a great place to work for you?
“Hilton stands out from other employers I’ve worked for because of the culture. I am proud to work for Hilton because every day offers new opportunities to spread the light and warmth of hospitality to our guests, our teams, and our communities.”Share this story:
