This Valentine’s Day, we connected with Van Nguyen, Senior Data Analyst, Enterprise Data Governance, and Cecilia Tran, Coordinator, Workplace Services to share their story as Hilton Team Members and fiancés. Keep reading as they reflect on their love story, their time together at Hilton, and the magic moments they’ve made along the way.
When Van and Ceci first met at a church youth group during elementary school, they were far from friends. Time passed until they connected again in high school. “We were long-distance best friends, talking over the phone every day for about a year, until we eventually started dating. We didn’t expect the relationship to last very long since we were both wrapping up high school and would be off to different colleges soon, but here we are almost 8 years later!” Their journey with Hilton began in 2019 when Van joined the summer intern program. When he returned to Team Hilton full-time on the Enterprise Data Governance team in 2021, Ceci was also looking for a job. Van immediately saw how Hilton’s values truly mirrored Ceci’s own personal values – specifically Ownership and Teamwork – and encouraged her to apply. As a member of the Workplace Services team, Ceci works out of our McLean corporate office, supporting all building events and initiatives. While Van’s role offers more work from home flexibility, he shares it’s great to be able to carpool and have lunch together on the days they’re both in office. Outside of Hilton, Ceci and Van are both creatives! Ceci loves sewing, fashion design, pattern making, and adding a unique modern twist to traditional Vietnamese attire. Van is driven by music and is working on perfecting his craft as a DJ, music producer, and pianist. These personal passions blended earlier this month when they attended the 2023 GRAMMYs as Hilton representatives after winning an internal contest through their joint involvement in the Asian Pacific Islander Team Member Resource Group. As for the next chapter in their Hilton love story? A wedding! The couple got engaged during a Go Hilton trip to Disney in Orlando last year. While their wedding plans are still underway, they’re looking for ways to incorporate Hilton into their big day, including using more of their combined Team Member travel discount nights to explore a few of the incredible markets Hilton operates in during their honeymoon.
