From her first role to the team she leads today, her path reflects the many ways growth can take shape at HiContinue reading to hear how Kim’s experiences have shaped her leadership, perspective, and impact.Kim's 18-year journey at HiltonGet to Know KimKim did not initially set out to build a career in hospitality, but it turned out to be a welcome surprise. “As so many others, I accidentally fell in love with hospitality,” she shares.What began as a part-time role at a hotel expanded into opportunities across front office, human resources, and corporate functions. Along the way, she learned to adapt when needed.“My journey has been one filled with curiosity and innovation through necessity,” Kim explains.Today, her role allows her to influence multiple areas of the business, leading a team that develops resources delivered across platforms, messaging, and learning events for hotels, owners, and internal teams.Career Growth Through Perspective and OpportunityFor Kim, some of the most impactful moments in her career were not tied to titles, but instead to perspective shifts.“They were the moments that forced introspection — assessing my approach and identifying opportunities to shift my own perspective,” she reflects.Kim and her daughter enjoy a family vacation.Beyond introspection, Kim developed further by taking on opportunities she did not expect.“I gravitate towards roles that enable me to expand my skills or contribute to the development of others,” she explains. “Many of my career shifts have been anchored in my love of knowledge and learning.”Each shift broadened her exposure and leadership experience and was reinforced by leaders who invested in her potential.“I have experienced multiple leaders who have taken an interest in my growth and career,” Kim says. “They have taught me new skills, helped to expand my network, and trusted me. The ability to chart your path is invaluable in growing confidence and lEmpowering Others and Creating BelongingAs Kim’s responsibilities expanded, so did her understanding of what it means to create an environment where everyone can thrive.“It all comes down to a level of genuine care,” she explains. “It’s respecting that each individual is a whole person, both inside and beyond the work walls.”She takes a similar approach to empowering her team.“I collaborate with my Team Members to define what we do—responsibilities, expected outcomes, core deliverables, and ways of working—to reinforce that everyone’s perspective is important,” Kim says.It is a philosophy shaped by her experiences at Hilton over time.This Black History Month, we celebrate the impact of leaders like Kim, whose contributions continue to strengthen our culture and business.
