The Management Development Program (MDP) is designed to prepare best-in-class full-time job seekers passionate about hospitality for a rewarding career! This program focuses on developing leadership capabilities and hotel operations acumen to prepare MDP Trainees for a first-time managerial role.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

The Management Development Program is a comprehensive one-year development program. Our goal is to prepare first-time supervisors and managers in hospitality. As an MDP Trainee, you will spend the first three months of your program participating in a general rotation through multiple areas and functions of the hotel to gain a complete understanding of our business.

This 12-month hotel-based program begins with a 3-month general rotation through all hotel departments, then 6 months in a specific area of specialization while learning leadership skills, business acumen, and day to day hotel operations. It concludes with up to an additional 3 months in a role on the property. Specialization function choices may include Food & Beverage, Culinary, Front Office & Rooms, Engineering (facilities maintenance), Housekeeping, Catering & Events, Marketing, Finance, Sales, and Revenue. Upon successfully completing the program, MDP Trainees may be offered job placement opportunities at one of our U.S. managed hotels.

ABOUT THE 2024/2025 MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

This full-time paid training program begins in August 2025. Upon successfully completing the program, MDP graduates may be invited to apply for job placement opportunities at any of our managed hotels in the U.S.. An overview of the areas of specialization is below. You can select the areas of specialization you are interested in when you apply.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:

Fluently speaks, reads, and writes in English
Problem solver who can resolve issues effectively and creatively while maintaining a high level of flexibility, professionalism, and integrity
Dedicated self-starter with a work attitude that exhibits flexibility, drive, good judgment, and dependability
Critical thinking and both quantitative and qualitative analytics skills with the ability to use logic and reasoning to creatively identify the strengths/weaknesses of alternative and differentiated solutions, conclusions, or approaches to complex problems
Displays a positive attitude, loves to get involved and help, and wants to learn
Visionaries who are passionate about hospitality
Reciprocal teamwork that brings to bear positive partnerships with hotel Team Members
To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
- Willing and able to relocate
- Can work in the U.S. without employment sponsorship during or after the program

Professional Development

MDP Trainees will participate in the Lead Harvard Virtual Series, a leadership development program designed to support rising hotel leaders. You will also be assigned LinkedIn Learning courses on personal branding, feedback, cultivating a growth mindset, and more.

Real-World Work Experience

As an MDP Trainee, you will be paired with a Mentor outside of your hotel to support you throughout your program journey.

Bryce has had a great time as an MDP at the Hilton Waikoloa Village as an Engineering and Landscaping MDP. Bryce has a father who works for Hilton and is excited to be following in his footsteps through MDP.
